Job Description

Ledgent is currently hiring a Construction Accounts Payable Specialist. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounts payable functions, ensuring accurate processing of construction-related invoices, and supporting financial operations across various projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with construction accounting experience to contribute to a growing organization.

$65,000-$70,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and review invoices from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers related to construction projects.
  • Verify invoice accuracy, ensuring proper documentation
  • Ensure timely payment processing for subcontractors, suppliers, and other project-related expenses.
  • Code invoices to the appropriate project codes, cost centers, and general ledger accounts.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field staff to resolve discrepancies or payment issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and project-specific documentation.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies to maintain positive vendor relationships.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Provide support to the finance team and assist with audits related to accounts payable and construction costs.
  • Manage multiple tasks and deadlines while supporting the overall accounting team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is a must
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting practices, including job costing, project-specific billing, and vendor management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with construction accounting software
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing invoices and financial data.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
